Made in Dagenham

In this lesson we carried on blocking the show from the start of scene 3. We Started from the end of the song This is What We Want. At the end of the scene all the women sit down and carry on working. We decided that the women will stay on stage in silence, pretending to work and very dimly lit. We stay down there while the office scene happens on the blocks behind the audience, so they're now lit up there. After that the main floor where we at is relit. As we're meant to be machinist, the movement at first was very static so Kim said we should try having half standing and half sitting. When we tried this the scene became so much more dynamic. So we all had to be aware of everyone else so if one person decided to stand or sit someone else would have to react. Going through the scenes, I've taken on a few extra roles; Mr Buxton, a backing singer for Sorry I Love You and a Cortina show girl.
